This has been a very useful thread. I have a vast stack of wheels which I'm starting to have to resist taking to the dump. I tried to post a set, but none of the Post Offices round here - at all - are able to take them due to the size. I suppose that's the problem with being semi-rural, they're all tiny sub-Offices. Interesting to see that Parcel2Go etc have been used with success - I'm always wary of carriers I've hardly ever heard of :roll: Maybe the wheels fate is saved afterall. 8)

Parceltogo are an agent. I use them a lot and usually get a DHL service through their dropdown box so you are using known carriers.

Remove the skewer and tape it up onto the spokes. Then either pack plenty of protection around the axle ends. You could also thread zip ties through the rim and cardboard packaging to hold it firm.

I recently received a wheel with the axle and cones removed and bagged up, which is cutting the risk to a minimum but does mean a job at the other end.
