Shimano Roller Brakes on Mixte Frame

Post by Mick F »

I'm building a bike from bits.

The rather nice Mixte frame I have (comments regarding Mixte and Macho have been posted elsewhere in this Forum!) has been powder coated in bright red, I've fitted the forks with a Campag headset and am in the process of kitting the whole thing out piece-meal as I can afford it.

Seat, 'bars, BB and chainset are already sorted, and I've settled on a Shimano Nexus system with hubs, gears and brakes. Not finalized whether it'll be 7sp or 8sp yet.

I built the front wheel recently arround the Nexus hub, and the front Roller Brake arrived by post the other day but there's no clamp thingy for the fork blade.

No doubt Shimano want people to have a brazed on bracket, but isn't a bolt-on clamp available?

Advice please.

Mick, I'm sure Shimano do a bracket for the Nexus hub. My partner had a Nexus set-up on her previous bike with a bracket.
