Long enough for a jobsworth to appear and advise you to bog off, I suspect

I pass Wiston on many of my training routes. If you fancy a bit of fun some weekend Squeaker ( and a minor bit of civil disobedience - or is it??) we could lift our bikes over the gate and pedal like mad. When Mr jobsworth catches up with us we could insist we dont speak English - many of my friends say that I don't in any case, so it is plausible.

Seriously is Mouse Lane a PROW? I would love to have a look see. Mrs Braveheart has been at the House as she organises meetings and training events for her company down there.

There are other ways into Wiston of course, did some poor sod not crash land his glider there a year or so ago?
..... they may take our lives.... but they'll never take our FREEDOM!!

Yes, AFAIK, but only up to Round Robin, although in practice (as demonstrated by Google Streetview) you can drive up to the locked gate (see extract below from WSCC's imap).
For me (in off-road mode) conversion of the footpath (2704/1) south of the house to a bridleway would be most useful as it offers a low level westbound alternative route to the South Downs Way, accepting that security concerns for the high level meetings held at Wiston are likely to preclude use of the current estate roads.
