Thought I'd let you all know about these :- http://road.cc/node/12663
I've been using them for a few weeks now (bought from my LBS) they're the best Dual Pivot (Shimano RX100) pads I've used, great modulation and incredible one finger stopping power :)

PS one thing,I haven't used them in wet conditions yet.

No complaints, they work well enough.

I agree with chris; £20 a set is fully taking the P!

But do they work well?

What price good brakes?

My Campag ones aren't brilliant, I often wonder if there are better ones out there.

I think good cables and setup are both more important than brake blocks. Not that I'm saying yours are badly set up, Mick; it's just that there are a lot of bikes out there that aren't set up properly.

Mine are set up perfectly, as per instructions. Campag Chorus "D" 2006.
TBH, there's actually nothing to set up. Fit, adjust, and use them!

In the dry, they are as good a set of brakes as any, but in the wet they are ok. In the very wet, they are only just ok, but that's what normally happens with rim brakes anyway.

Extra friction is what we all want, but it comes at a cost, or should I say costs. Money and longevity. It's the same with tyres: softer rubber equals more grip, and softer rubber equals more wear.

Yeah but can they stop? :?
I don't think a set of pads (which will take new slip in shoes when the originals wear out)is such a bad price, especially if you compare with total throw away pads
eg;after initial outlay of £20(mine were £16)new pads (the shoes accept any slip in caliper pads)can cost as little as £6.50 so not so bad IMO :)

I've used the V brake version. They're on a par with Koolstop Salmon and around the same price. The softer compound not only offers better braking it'll also improve the longevity of your rims. You'd have to do a lot of testing to work out the cost effectiveness, but there's defiantly some offset. With a softer compound you don't get the bits of aluminium bedded in the blocks. The softer pads will wear quicker, though they tend to be a bit thicker in the first place.
Non of this I really care about, I'll buy the best brakes available, full stop.

Something I've also found with the V brake version.which is why I thought I'd tryy the caliper version too.

I agree, and these pads are pretty darn good IMO

There was a fair tot of facetiousness in my comment.

If you want to buy funny coloured brake blocks that make you stop better, don't let me stop you. :P
