Technology and Santa Claus

Post by Dai »

Did I mention I had a bike computer for Christmas? Fantastic, now I can go slower than everyone else officially!

It's great - I'm now keeping a diary/cyclelog - family are running a book on how long I keep it up (if you'll pardon the expression).

Anybody else have nice bikey stuff from Santa?

Santa must have known your bike was sitting, uncared for and unused, in the shed from Dec 7.

Only good boys get toys - says so in the Cycle Maintenance Manual and on Sheldon Browns so it must be right

Didn't get any bikey stuff, but did get a fantastic little piece of kit called a gorrillapod. http://www.joby.com/uk/
There is your way. There is my way. But there is no "the way".

That looks brilliant - just the job when you're out cycling and need to take a decent shot of something.

Is it very heavy?

Very light. On my wife's kitchen scales it is showing 40 grams.

Think I might invest in one - I take quite a lot of pics when I'm out on the bike - it's a good excuse for a rest at the top of a steep hill.

I see from your website you were on my patch earlier in the year - Hope you enjoyed the Welsh section of the Wye - if you come again send me a personal message and we can meet up for a tea and a natter.

Now, that is clever, but a tad expensive for me...think I'll carry on with lashing the camera to the bars with a toe strap

Di: Hoping they have a Welsh Cycling Festival again this year and if so I will definately be there.

Si: Cotswold Camping give a 15% CTC discount on them. I only have the smaller compact camera version as this is what I mainly take on a tour. It does however seem to cope okay with my DSLR.

(For information)

My bike is kept in the spare bedroom, in the warm and dry.

Honestly, I've been busy, I'll be on it tomorrow!javascript:emoticon(':D')

PLEASE forgive me ....

Hyacinth has her own little shed which she kindly shares with Larry the Lawnmower - it's dry as a bone and fairly warm by Welsh standards.

You're forgiven, but no excuses next year - Christmas day off and that's it
