Lizard Clear Patches

Post by Jonty »

Has anyone tried Lizard Shins Clear Patches to protect against scratches (to your bike) and would recommend them? I'm thinking of using them instead of a Chainstay protector.
Thanks

I've not! I asked about them in the LBS, who recommended just using sticky-backed plastic at a fraction of the price. It seems to work well for me.

They work. There are cheaper alternatives (watch out some stickybacks have water based adhesives) and some more expensive but ultimately more cost effective (like helicopter tape)

Lizard is a premium brand, which will almost certainly be made from the same stuff as cheaper brands (3M). BBB frames pro's will probably be half the price (about a fiver). Or you can get sheets of A4 size of the same plastic and cut to your own design. Ribble used to sell it - £12 for 2x A4 sheets.
