Aviemore to Aberdeen
Aviemore to Aberdeen
Can anyone recommend a relatively quiet route from Aviemore to Aberdeen ..(Maryculter) please so that I can ride to the Grampian rally..Thanks
Re: Aviemore to Aberdeen
I'd think anything other than the A96 would be fine.
I went via via Tomintoul the A939 then followed the A944 , A97 and A944 all the way to Aberdeen. Just as the traffic got busy at the outskirts of Aberdeen a roadside cycle track appeared if required. I'd been ready to divert on to minor roads if it got busy at any time but it was a nice low traffic road with a good surface all the way.

No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?

That's pretty much the way I'd go too. Aviemore to Tomintoul and then up over the Lecht and over to Ballater before going along the South Deeside Road to Maryculter - you could use the North Deeside road but I think the South road is nicer.
