we're looking for a trailer for our collie for multi-week touring. from a quick google we can see several dog specific trailers. Anyone able to advise on what to look out for in a trailer ? any other tips welcome.

we trialled this idea on arran at the weekend.
we used a second hand halfords trailer designed for two children and folded the seat out of the way and put the dog bed in its place. it worked fine although the dog seemed a little bemused by it all.
In general we found towing the trailer from a steering and handling point of view ok. you just need to be a bit careful of clipping kerbs etc
our only real concern was how comfortable the dog was but of course dogs cant speak to tell us......

There is a website/blog about a couple who are cycling around Europe ith their 2 dogs. They use trailers ( I think) but there is advice on travelling with the dogs as well.I can't for the life of me remember its name but you can get a link to it on Crazy Guy On A Bike
