Seriously, how I wish that there was more irony on this Forum these days - if only because you are obviously jealous of my slim figure.

Here's my Kona visiting the tree that is slowly eating a mile marker on the Leeds Liverpool Canal near Chorley.
The bike doesn't look much different to how it did when it was new in 2017. But, since November last year, has gone over to the dark side with SRAM AXS wireless gears, mainly to counteract increasing discomfort from changing gear due to arthritic fingers. The main benefits being to gain an extra, lowered, gear (1x12 now with a 10-52 cassette instead of the original 1x11 with 10-42) & easier braking with the redesigned levers (plus Hope 4 piston calipers).

Skinny? And the second word is?
Rode the canal near Chorley many years ago, constantly disrupted by angry fishermen - and, would you believe it, pairs of men wo came out of their offices at lunchtime to walk the towpath hand in hand. No probs being together, but they were in the way and only had eyes for one other.
You are working hard on your gearing - being non-technical, I just struggle! Keeps me looking young, or so my neighbourhood rich widow says.
Happy Days.

Well if the first word's 'skinny' and going by the photograph of a hot young lass sat on the beach, the full acronym must be Skinny Old Age Pervert!!Morzedec wrote: 3 Nov 2025, 6:02pm All right, I'll buy it - what does SOAP mean?

How's that, all in jest of course.

"Skinny Officially" x x - I'm still none the wiser. Why can't people just speak proper English, Innit?

I thought for a second you’d nicked my favourite bike! Here's my Kona
Not the same, but very similar.
Lower Icknield Way, I think.
Re: Pictures of your bike(s)
A week since my Estarli was delivered, and a week of horrible weather, so just two commutes so far. But this morning I went for a jolly out to Cockersands Abbey. Thus far I've ridden about 100 miles and I'm in love with this bike. It's already got a Cambium C17 Carved saddle and some decent Ergon grips and it's one of the most comfortable rides I've ever had.
Re: Pictures of your bike(s)
Was going to suggest a disposable shower cap , or similar elasticated cover, over the battery but I take it it's built into the down tube -- just wondered how the battery is protected against rain / puddles etc?Colin63 wrote: 12 Nov 2025, 2:41pm A week since my Estarli was delivered, and a week of horrible weather
Must say -- It is a very neat looking ebike.

The battery is inside the downtube. It can be charged in situ or removed if there are no nearby power pointsCowsham wrote: 12 Nov 2025, 7:41pm just wondered how the battery is protected against rain / puddles etc?

Water probably flows around away and out the bottom. Looks like a normal bike it's so neat.Colin63 wrote: 26 Nov 2025, 8:45pmThe battery is inside the downtube.
