Tomorrow I'm going to go out for a ride but am not sure where to go.
I live in north-east Reading and am looking to do between 20 and 30 miles. Off-road is not a problem.
So where should I go?

Re: Inspire me
If i'm off for a 20 miler i use this link: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com to plot a route. It doesnt give much inspiration on 'waypoints' but does allow you to get the distance right.
What about going out with your local ctc group?

Re: Inspire me
I know it's a bit late for todays ride, but did you find a suitable route and where did you go?
I have a daughter who lives in Wokingham and we are Grand-children sitting for a week in August.
I could take a bike but the roads are so busy in your area that it is a bit off-putting. I'm sure there must be country lanes and with local knowledge there should be a good few rides around.
I intend borrowing an O.S. map (from our local library) and seeing if I can put together a decent quiet route.
The only other option would be to do a "park & ride".

A man can't have everything.

...again too late, but i used to live in reading (Newtown) and found it lovely for cycling. The best rides were always straight up into chilterns, loop round and then come back via Sonning along the the thames path.Watch out for Swans! I loved the chilterns. Used to head onto Oxford sometimes and then get train back.
...also good way to go was getting on the train heading East and then heading back home, loads of nice options.
...another cracker was cycle to winchester (~50miles) and train home

Kept it easy today. Straight up the A4 to Maidenhead, and back. About 22 miles in total. Not even one close pass by a car, I don't think.

Yeah. Reading is great. Didn't realise just how good it was. You can get pretty much anywhere.
Next week I may go for a bit of a loop out towards Watlington.
