New form?
New form?
Not been offered an 'Allegation of bad driving' form before - anyone else seen one?
The copper did suggest I might use a stack of them - which could easily be done.

A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.

I could use a stack. Is it downloadable?

Don't know yet - the nice copper was back on his way to the station, so he'll drop it off at mine tomorrow a little after 8...

Re: New form?
what will they do with the forms once you've filled them in? 'Bad driving' isn't against the law and is highly subjective
bad driving is good driving when something unexpectedly gets in the way

Re: New form?
I've noticed that many of the bad drivers where I live are displaying warning flags, these consist of a red cross on a white background. Very considerate of them to do this to warn other road users, I just get out of the way when I see one coming.

This person evidently recognised their own limitations, and had two displayed.
Hang on - I've got one displayed as well, but it's on my flagpole, and has been there since St Georges day...

Re: New form?
As squeaker has identified this is a paper version of the Sussex Police Operation Crackdown. The Metropolitan Police also accepts these reports online. I think - although I am only guessing - that these forms will be checked and where appropriate there will be a record made with a view to taking action under s 59 of the Police Reform Act. (I've rambled on about this several times on here recently.) The basic thing is that if reports of careless / inconsiderate driving continue after a warning the car can be seized. When [XAP]Bob gets his form, it may explain it all.
I'd suggest people consider something meic said about reporting incidents, recommending that you only do so in truly bad cases. The alternative is that you risk being treated as 'Operation Crackpot.'

I've seen larger versions on houses must be some form of homing device.
Percussive maintainance, if it don't fit, hit it with the hammer.

From a recent acknowledgement:
And no, I haven't been that busyThe information supplied will be checked against a number of databases depending on the severity of the incident that has been reported. The most frequently used intervention is a letter of advice sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle from the Superintendent of the Road Policing Unit, however other options include a visit to the driver by a member of the Road Policing Unit, or for the most serious offences a targeted intervention which can lead to arrest and conviction at court.
Since August 2007 Crackdown has received over 20000 reports, this has generated over 1700 letters of advice, over 550 intelligence reports which have been disseminated to the Road Policing Unit, 125 uninsured vehicles have been seized, 220 warnings/seizures have been made using Section 59 of the Police Reform Act and 45 drivers have been arrested.
Over the last three months we have achieved an intervention rate of 1 in 4.
