Funny you should mention this.

I've just spent a happy couple of hours trying to figure out if I should go for the 7sp or 8sp Shimano Nexus, whilst looking at the ratio spread figuring out which sprocket and ring combo to use.

I'm building a bike up for "General/Multi-use/Both-of-us-or-more" and like the Shimano Roller Brakes. I've already built the front wheel complete with the brake, and am trying get my act together to make up the back end.

Been looking at www.wiggle.co.uk They have an 8sp without fittings for £98.99. www.bonthronebikes.co.uk have a 7sp complete with fittings for £87.35.

I prefer the wider ratios of the 8sp, so next month, after payday, I might order one!

There's no way ever I'll be buying a Rohloff. £650! No way! They can get lost! The WHOLE group-set on my road bike didn't cost half that! AND it's Campagnolo!
