what to ask for a hybrid

I have acquired/accumulated a couple of hybrids which I want to sell but don't really know how much to ask. I was thinking of advertising them on
Gum Tree for £30 each. One is a Raleigh Mtrax 4 years old which is in good condition mechanically as I have maintained it with new chain before it stretched etc. does need some new brake blocks; but the paint job was rubbish and there are the beginnings of oxidation in one ar two places and some oxidised scrathes from where the lock secured it; it was a proper plastic coated lock too. Cost me £200 in a sale. I put on some Marathons but they have made the ride rather harsh
The other was my nephew's; it is about 15 years old cosmetically looks quite good and has done not very many miles. Mechanically seems ok.
Is £30 about right?

Don't know if this will help or not. Last year I sold a 5-year old Claude Butler Odyssey hybrid in good but not brilliant condition. Advertised it in local paper at 40 pounds and it sold within a couple of days.

£30 sounds a good minimum price. Anything less than that and people will think the bikes are useless. :o
When advertising, mention the colour, whether lady's or gent's and the minimum height of person it will suit. Estimate this height by multiplying the frame size (traditional diamond-frame design) by three.
Also, see if your local newspaper carrries free advertisements. Your realistic catchment area for a customer will be about 10 miles.
Good luck, Punk_shore
