Welcome to the CTC. You have joined a Membership Club which is a company limited by guarantee. The CTC Trust is a charity set up by the Club under charity law and under the supervision of the Charity Commission. CTC website provides a lot of information on both Club and Trust activities. A proposal to set up a unified Membership Charity was put to the last AGM along with a series of amendments to the Club's Memorandum and Articles of Association which would be required for Charity registration. Although the first resolution was carried narrowly, the Amendments require a 75% majority of those voting under company law. Therefore the status quo remains, you have joined a club and a company. Because of a petition by members opposing the AGM resolution you should get an opportunity to vote in a referendum enclosed with the December magazine. The arguments for and against will be reinterated in the magazine. It will be good to have new members voting.

Actually only the Pro view will be represented in the magazine, you will probably get an email urging you to vote "yes" and the "no" campaign will get no further voice than this forum.
If you can work out what address you should send your ballot to, please let me know, didn't spot it either on the form or page 8.
