Does anyone know any of the history of this London club? I know my father was a member in the 1930s and was, at one time the captain but I would love to find out any more, or even to make contact with old members.

Hello not sure if this is too late but came across your post and thought I might reply. My father was a member and is in this picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/71256895@N00/4739708434/ His name was Chris Wilkins and I even have some of his medals, sadly he passed away 10 years ago at the age of 94!

Hi. Thanks for the post and photo - sorry for any delay in reply but I have been abroad for the past three weeks and am only now catching up on mail. I cannot see my father in the pic. and suspect it is taken at a later time than the three pics. that I have which date from about 1925. When i get time I will try some research in the archives for Islington Council, whatever that comes under now - most likely Hackney. I've just acquired this club's Saxon Cup awarded for 25 mile time trial events from a dealer on Ebay.
As a keen club cyclist and until recently one who competed in such events this cup and it's club are of particular interest to me. The cup was first awarded in 1925 and every year thereafter until the outbreak of the war. Post war the cup was awarded between 1947 and 1952 albeit with a gap between 1949 and 1952 when one might assume the club faded away during the 1950's.

Does anyone have knowledge of the club and in particular the colours they used for their jerseys? There may well be scope for looking to reform this club. I have sent pm's to those who commented in 2011 on this post so can't be certain if they'll pick up on them or this post.
