Aussie roadsters used bolted-on seatstays long after they went out of fashion in the UK.

Is there such a thing as an aluminium 28x1-1/2 rim with a sidewall braking surface? Or should I bite the bullet and buy a sturmey-archer drum-brake? Can not, will not use rod brakes!

drum brakes obviously reduce rim wear and dirt. go for it :wink:
