Looking to do the lojog later this year and a run down to London and back early April or May also. Any advice as to the route from London to Merseyside Area would be greatfully appreciated.

Kind regards barbelfisher. Regards barbelfisher.

I've cycled out of london a couple of times, and I found it's much easier than cycling into london. It depends if you want a direct or 'scenic' route. there are canals you can use, and probably use them most of the way past birmingham. just searched for 'london birmingham canal cycle' and it seems you can, the grand union canal. never done it though.

it's fairly straight forward to get out of london via watford. and I've cycled out via north london and potters bar, which was actually quite good/interesting. it was a quiet sunday though.

cheers

Thanks for the reply folks, decided to try a shorter route to start with, I have a caravan near shropshire and will try a ride from St Helens to there first, the A49 seems a good direct route but very busy. Has anyone used this route or are there safer routes to use?

Cheers barbelfisher.
