I make sure the phone battery is ok and fully charged, use a camera which takes AAsize Lithiums and will do short movie pics and I navigate with pages from a road atlas kept in polypockets in the barbag mapholder. Highlight the route in fluorescent marker pen, turn the pocket over midday, switch the phone on for an hour at 7pm by arrangement with home. No chargers. The only other electronic gadget is an old Cateye Mity3 computer for speed, time and distance. Mainly used on tour for navigation. The phone doubles as alarm clock. I may take a longwave radio if there's cricket being broadcast.

I was thinking of using my Blackberry as a GPS waypoint finder for the LEJOG this spring, but am once again astounded by the number of mapping 'apps' available. Does any body have an idea on the best app to choose. Sorry if this is a bit specific.... :D
