Hi,

Just a very tentative reply at this stage.

I have been thinking about an E2E this year doing LEJOG route.

I'm 54yrs old. I live on the South coast, so a fair way from you, but I don't see that as a problem as such.

I have 'returned' to cycling in the last year and have completed some sportives including a couple of 100's.

There is plenty of time for me to get enough miles in my legs before September.

I am not particularly fast, I can average 15mph for a 100 but with big hills that would come down a bit. but I do like to push myself on a bike.

I like the idea of a support vehicle to forego having to carry too much stuff.

I have a chosen charity which is Hearing dogs for deaf people, would me having sponsorship for that charity be an issue with your aims of riding for cancer research?

I am quite flexible as far as planning goes, if you already have routes and accomodation in mind then I would not try and impose any of my thoughts ( if you have put in the work it would be rude of me to try and alter your plans just because I was riding with you) However I would be happy to join in with any planning if that is needed.

If you think that I might fit in with your plans please get back in touch and we can exchange details etc.

If you do not think I will fit in, for whatever reason, then please just say, I will not take offence, you need to do the ride with friends, people you like and enjoy the ride itself.

Hope to hear from you soon

Nigel

I'm based in Sheffield. You say power ride so does that mean it's going to be a head down and go for it ride or a nice and steady checking out the scenery ride. :?:

Hi All,

I set myself this challenge and so far haven't been able to find anyone to fit in with my plans. How many riders are you up to and would it be OK to come along? I was plannning for May/June, but I'd rather do it later than not at all!

I was thinking about 12 days too, so the speeds should be about right - I'm also new to roading it, but I'm an experienced rider so shouldn't be a problem.

If you could let me know what you guys are thinking as in Route (i.e. longer and scenic vs shorter and quick), and your accom plans that would be great - if it wasn't hard enough I'm also trying to do this with minimal funding!

Thanks,

Marc

would you be interested in two more tagging along - paying our fair share of expenses and doing what we are told - would give something to the charity of your choice but personally i just want to do it for sense of achievement - we aint speed monsters but can average 15 usually though looking at most posts on here i think its more steady than that - based in northants what aint miles away - i wont type too much now as useless at typing and dont know if you are still looking - hope to hear from you soon - lee

Hey,
I would love to do this, I just missed out on places at my uni this year as it got fully booked!!!
Is it still set to be September its just I go back to uni on the 20th!
I could help fund raise for your charity too :-)
How much are we looking at cost wise to do the whole thing?
Sophie.
