I've no experience of a Garmin 705 but last month my TomTom sat nav needed to be repaired. I sent it to these people:
http://satnavrepairservice.comI was most impressed with the service. I posted it late Friday aftenoon and (despite PO saying wouldn't get there 'til Monday) I received an email shortly after mid-day Saturday to say repair completed; received it back Tuesday, after I paid on Sunday.
I was apprehensive using a company I had found by googling and knew nothing about but most impressed. I got online quote from another company, too, but that was more than twice as expensive. I seem to recall they included replacing glass on Garmins.
If you google something like "repair garmin 705 glass" you'll find others. Might be worth getting several quotes.

Give Garmin a ring.
They are helpful in my experience, it's worth the call.
They do a repair service.
