Brompton Pannier bag

Post by V4281051 »

I have an S type Brompton with 2 front pannier bags..the normal S type and a Carradice one from about 12 years ago..
In the Brompton booklet it states only the S bag is suitable for the S bike..But my Carradice bag fits well..it is about an inch taller than the S bag..and about an inch off the steerer tube..It doesn't interfere with the steering in any way I can see..
So..Is it safe?

It is fine as long as you don't overfill the bigger bag, so that the brake levers can hit the bag.

Which is exactly the point... the S is a shorter stem and the bars also give less clearance.

All bags will fit - just make sure they don't interfere with the turn.
