Note it says MIGHT BE.

CTC would have too much to lose.

Some anti-virus and other programmes can be too sensitive.

I am often warned against respectable sites

Second time it's flagged the forum up as bad but this is one of the safer sites I visit.

it's because zone alarm is running heuristics checks (a set of rules that produce a 'probability') and the page you are viewing is failing; something in the underlying code of the page is triggering it. this doesn't automatically mean something bad, just something that is being interpreted as bad by zone alarm.

it would be interesting to know which two pages caused the error, which might lead to what's triggering it. obviously the 'helmet row' page. does it happen every time you view that page ?

cheers

hi,

it should be learning your behaviour, so if you override it's warning it's likely that it won't warn again. I suspect the warning probably influenced by the fact that the image/picture has a source link that's not a literal image file, but another web page which contains the keywords download and file. it would be interesting to know what other pages it happens on.

the software will have a bunch rules to run through when you visit a page, and each rule results in a score. if the accumulated score breaches a threshold (I guess you have a security level setting) then you get this warning. there doesn't appear to be anything on that particular page that's nasty. but there are probably a few things which in themselves are not interesting, but combined give a false impression. a bit like a shady looking character hanging around a bike shed, doesn't always mean a bike thief.

one of the downsides of heuristics engines is that the occasionally produce false positives.

cheers,
Doug

Your post has served to share this amusing pic with a slightly wider audience. I for one should never have seen it on the helmet forum.

I'll just try to get away with nodding in agreement at the rest of your post, hoping nobody asks any questions
