We moved to Gildersome (which is next to Morley) in 1975, which was also pretty warm and dry. In 1976, they prepared for standpipes by having somebody go round and paint all the little metal flaps in the street white. They were eventually installed, but never used because Dennis Howell MP (the former sovver referee) was appointed drought minister and it started pouring down.

Are you sure about snow at easter in 1976? The only reason I ask is that I should have said it was 1977 or 78 when there was really heavy snow at Easter, although it could have happened a couple of times close together.
