Fire - It's primitive....

Was burning some old rubbish in the garden tonight, in fact it was a decent bonfire, but why is it that neighbours, friends and family are attracted to it and came round to look at the fire and have a chat?
It must be a primitve thing?

A BBQ would be traditional I guess, but I went with the cold Peroni beer option to keep the heat down!
