Wow, cool! I always say I wouldn't want to go too far on my Brompton, looks like I could be wrong... was that all the luggage you had, though?
Of course it's a race...

If anyone wants the garmin course files you can download them from here:

http://tinyurl.com/6zth2a8 - zip file of 8 tcx files.

used bikeroutetoaster.com to create them and used them as course in a Garmin Edge 500.

We did mostly follow them, but in places we found a better on the ground (loch lomond route from Glasgow, parallel to the road etc) also route for day one shows a route to get to the Granite Way near Oakhampton - bike rouet toaster suggests a route but it is a rough byway.. etc..

when I have time will clean them up a bit and repost.

yep doubles on both:

48/38 on the Front with 113mm BB (well 110 + a 2mm spacer on mine!) and standard 12/16 Brompton rear 2 speed.

Foot to shift the chainset and finger to shift back worked well.

the setup works out to provide 3 distinct gears 38/12 being the sameish as 48/16 in gear inches - the idea to stop the need to change from big to little ring too much.

This is very impressive. I am keen to do this in 7 or 8 days on a light road set up but would love to stay off the a roads as much as possible. How did you manage to do this on little roads and keep the mileage low ?

I don't have a garmin would like to view your route, any ideas how ?

Great effort,
L

You can upload them to http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx (courses tab) to look at them.

Will even Add Height Data (may already be present in files), so you can check out the hills.....
