Weinmann cantis are they any good?

Weinmann cantis are they any good?

Are these from the 60's have some 70s mafacs but don't really rate them,looking to try some out

I have them on my 1984 Horizon. I've never had a problem braking with them. Setting them close to the wheel is a bit fiddly though as they're not the world's best at keeping their alignment.

Do you mean ones like these - as original equipment on Dawes Tandems of the early 90's. They were very good but became difficult to obtain replacement brake shoes. However you can now fit V brake blocks to them and they are easier to set up adjust than the equivelant shimano ones.

i'm referring to much older weinmann's as you would find on cyclocross bikes from the 60s and 70s
