Which bar ends for touring?

Post by jam05 »

Can anyone recommend a decent pair of bar ends for my Thorn Nomad touring bike? I'm looking for bar ends that are fairly long and have a good curve on them so that I can stretch out on the long journeys. My current handlebars are straight and I'd like to have more comfort.
Please help if you can!

Have you tried Bike plus and looked at the Pro Trekking Tour Bars on there. I got some and there are really good for touring.

I have USE(?) 'L' shaped ones - I find these by far the best as they offer an extra hand position over straight or curved ones and also allow a more aero position should you need it (riding into head winds, etc).

Here's how I did my Raven and found it very comfortable.

Titec L Shape bars and bar tape

Post by jam05 »

Thanks for the advice - I have bought a pair of L- Shaped bars from Titec and think I will wrap a fair bit of handlebar tape around them to get really comfy. Thanks for the photo - an inspiration!
