Just purchased a my size Holdsworth Mistral for touring and considering having braze ons for carriers ets, anybody done this and would it be as good as a Dawes Galaxy?

The usual advice is to just throw it together using whatever bits come to hand, and see how it rides before spending too much.
Rear carrier will mount on mudguard fixings and P clips at the top. You can get away without braze ons for a front carrier.
Long drop dual pivot brakes and youre away!
