Out on the bike this morning, the first time since June due to illness. What a joy , beautiful day down here, obviously a bit of a struggle, lost what little fitness I had and only managed about ten miles but it's a start. (I hope)

Couldn't of had two more different days, rained all day yesterday, wall to wall sunshine today

Even a wet day is a good day in Cornwall if you can get a walk or ride along the coast

Blimey you were lucky we have had rain for most of the day and I wimped out by doing a shorter route than I had intended to do.Still it gave me a bit more time to fit the road tyres I had ordered and received today onto the mountain bike.I will have to try it out tomorrow and see what if feels like in comparison to the knobblies.

It was also a struggle out on the bike today in Lancs/Cheshire, but that might have been the reported 'up to 50mph gusts of wind'!

Grand day out yesterday (Wednesday).

I decided to do a long ride, and also an "out and back". I normally do a circuit of anything between 15 and 75miles depending on what I fancy, but yesterday I rode to Exeter and back along the Old A30.

Great ride, 93miles total with a stop at the Double Locks pub in Exeter for lunch and a beer. Nice pub on the canal bank serving loads of food and real ales. Left home at 9am, lunch at 12.30 and home at 5.30.

The weather was sunny and dry, though a little windy. It blew me to Exeter, then I had to struggle home!

Sounds like a lovely day out, very envious

Well done.

I was working yesterday, so only had the few miles to get me there and back.

I lived in Cornwall for 8 years but sadly now have to be in London for work, but I always used to think I would much rather be in Cornwall in the rain than London.

Not quite Cornwall, but I drove down to Barnstaple yesterday afternoon on the spur of the moment, and rode down to Croyde via the Tarka Trail. Icecream in Croyde village, an hour sitting on the rocks watching the tide come in, and fish & chips on the way back. Finished the ride back along the Tarka Trail in the dark. A lovely evening, and about 26 miles.
