harrogate variations?
Would those be the ones that allow you to cycle on the Stray?
I think my response has to be My old favourite - The Kingston by-pass (A3)

How times change. Presumably, the idea of the Tardis resembling a police box was so that it could stand unnoticed on any street. I was trying to explain police boxes to my 5 year old grandson the other day when Dr Who was on the telly. When he asked "Did they have dinosaurs then?" (something else we'd been watching together) I realised that "a long time ago" has many meanings.

i reckon that a 5 year old's time scale works like this...
upto 2 weeks ago = yesterday
in his lifetime but not in the last two weeks = years ago
before his lifetime = ancient history = anything from big bang to his DOB

My now 30 year old son, when he was 6 or so asked me what life had been like before they invented colour. He'd picked up that old films and TV shows were in Black and White and made the connection that it wasn't the technology that had changed, but that the past was really only Black and White.

'tis true. The world only turned colour in the 1950s, and it was pretty grainy colour as well. Paintings from before then changed colour at the same time, which is why old paintings are now in colour. Old photographs didn't, of course, because they were colour photos of a black and white world. Artists were able to paint in colour before colour was invented because a lot of them were insane.

In the 1960s when they used to play old newsreel from the olden days like the 1920s on TV it was always too fast.
People used to walk jerkily and at about 6mph.
However, when they played old film from the second world war or later it was always at normal speed.

The world became colourful in 1935 when Kodachrome was introduced.
