Makes a ride indeed, when nature takes a peek at us.

Ive always got my eyes peeled.

I heard an eagle once... this summer while I was on my LEJOG ride, the day was clear and still, I was sitting by a loch (Loch Loyal) and I heard a bird cry, sounded very prehistoric and echoed around the hills (maybe mountains as it was in the Cairngorms). Made my entire trip did this...

(easy pleased said my hubby)

Errm...Loch Loyal is well over 100 miles from the Cairngorms so maybe that's why it was crying

Fabulous birds. I once saw an Osprey close up, near Achiltibuie. I can still remember the thrill after all these years.

All I can hear at this very moment is hail being blown against the windows.

Our barn owl is out on the hunt again and it certainly makes you jump when it shrieks from 10 metres away.
When it's courting the noise is even worse, and it goes on for ages. Talk about stamina!

I can hear owls but I can't hear bats any more - a sure sign of ageing!!
