Rugby World Cup - Wales Lose!

Well, have been in a state of mourning all day after Wales losing this morning.
it does not really matter that we had a player sent off, (he should have had a yellow card IMO) we still could and perhaps should have won the game. By having a player sent off it does leave a feeling of what might we have achieved if we had a full team on the pitch. Either way ref's make decisions and sometimes they go for you and sometimes against. Just like cycling on the road with other road users really!
I thought there was too much hype surrounding the Wales team at the WC and in the build up to the game today, but they can be proud of playing well and getting further than most of us Welsh people would care to admit.
I just hope now that the French can do it for the Northern Hemisphere!

What is it with this Forum. that people ruin every sporting event. Why couldn't you put world cup spoiler some of us have been working all day and avoiding the score. Please put Spoiler in the title and the the result inside. I have been busy all day and was looking forward to watching this this evening. The correct title would have been Spoiler: Rugby world cup

Nuke if he had of just put Rugby World Cup would you have still clicked on it? I know I would not have. As I am reasonably sure the result would be mentioned.
gremlin it would be nice if you edited the title to avoid giving the result.

Yeah, after the outrageous Sam Warburton dismissal, those Welsh lads played their hearts out. Pity that Hooky wasn't quite on form with his boot, though. Bravo, men of Harlech!!

I wasn't aware that there was a Rugby World Cup.
How often does this happen?
Is this the first?
Sorry, sport bores me.

Its not the first. Watching sport bores me too. Much better to take part in something. Occasionally I watch a game like I did this one over a newspaper but I usually can't raise any enthusiasm for spectating. The bike, or a jaunt on the water satisfies me. But, we are all different, some need to be part of a tribe its a primitive deep rooted instinct.
That Welsh captain must be gutted, a tackle that went dangerously wrong. What were they doing in the last seconds, great position to try for a drop goal? I lived in Wales in the golden 70's. I watched Mountain Ash slaughter California (well, they did field Phil Bennet, JPRW, and Merve the swerve!)

Wales beat Ireland in the quarter finals and then in the semi against France get a Franco/Irish referee who red cards Sam Warburton for a yellow card offence. Strange that......

Wales were by far the better team and were simply very unlucky. Amazing that one of the worst teams is in the final.

Listening to the news this morning on Radio2, it occurred to me that some news reporting is biased.
It can be argued that the BBC are biased news-wise and I have no comment about that as I don't notice it, but news sport-wise they are VERY biased!
I understand that the sports-lovers want to hear a biased reporting, but if you are not interested in sport, it would be good to hear a balanced view and not saying it's a shame that so-and-so got beaten.
Just report the facts, not a biased tribal view.

I don't want to be considered a heretic, but I was more disappointed about Wales being knocked out than I was that England were. And I'm English. Play up the Kiwis!!!!!!!!!

Just saying he got sent off for a dangerous tackle is akin to saying that a cyclist collided with a lorry on a dual carriageway - it really doesn't report what actually happened.
Sam Warburton went in for a good hard tackle (as he should have done). The fact that the tacklee was a fairly small chap (in comparison with an open side flanker) meant that he ended up going over rather than just back. When Sam Warburton realised that, and realised that he couldn't put him down gently because the tackle was so one sided, he didn't carry the tackle through and drive they winger into the ground (which is what the regulation is for).
Yes it was dangerous - no it was not a red card offence.
I'd go so far as to say that all red cards should be referred to the TMO - they make such a huge difference to the game.
