It all depends on how scenic you want it, or if you just want to get there as quick as possible. My suggestion would over to the Wirral, pick up the Wirral Way down to Neston and hopefully by then the new link from Neston to Shotwick will be open to avoid Two Mills. Over the new bridge to Oakenholt and then along the road to Talacre. Pick up the cycle path from there all the way through to Rhos on Sea. Then on road to Conwy and get back on the cycle path, going along Telford's original coast road over the road tunnels. Don't know about Bangor, but out from there heading for Port Dinorwic and then another cycle path will take you all the way to Caernarfon waterfront and the castle. A nice route, but no real idea about distance. Perhaps 90miles? Check it on a route planning website.
Hope that helps.

Happy to help, but it occurred to me last night while on the route, that if you take a short detour before you get to Flint, you can visit Flint Castle, one of Edward 1's. Later as you leave Rhyl and have a short road section, look left at the blue bridge over the river Clwyd, you'll see Rhuddlan Castle, also one of Edwards. Later on there is Conwy castle of course and as you go along the coast, look across to Anglesey and see Beaumaris Castle and eventually you'll come to Caernarfon, also with one of Edward's castles. A good day's cycling with 5 castles. Is that a record for a single day?
