Used spokes - good for nothing?

In some cultures they've had a very nasty function indeed. See Athol Fugard's novel 'Tsotsi' (now a film) about street gangs in apartheid Soweto. Sharpened bike spokes were the murder weapon of choice.

Blunt ones hurt too.
My finger is feeling better BTW, though it felt like murder!

Keep your fingers away from rotating wheels.

I used a modified old spoke at the week end to hold the two ends of the chain and allow me to push the pin back in (with the appropriate tool :D )
