Bike shop builders (well at least some of them) tend to look up spoke lengths for a hub/rim combo in Sutherlands Manual - or did when I worked there for a while. Personally I measure the job up and run the longhand calc at the back of Brandt through an ancient calculator which has Trig functions, though I can tell you the spoke angles/sines and cosines for the common builds off the top of my head. (So it can be done on a fag packet).

This from CJ works well http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=3524 and it's very simple (if not a little long winded).

The on line calculators are easy.
Don't believe the data bases of rims and hubs. Measure your own.
Just input your measurements, and see the lengths.
Round the results up. Better to have a spoke a little long than a little short.

Try these:

There are many more.
