I've been a relatively happy user of an aged brooks b17 for just over a year. I say relatively as its never quite reached the level of comfort I expected based on the rave reviews.
As its an aged version, it came pre punched and laced. I noticed this morning that the laces were quite tight and not allowing it to flex, so loosened them off.
What a difference - its like a slipper (I exaggerate but even so). I'm finally a happy convert to brooks.
