Hi, I’m thinking of purchasing a Thorn Nomad Mk2. I have read all of their information on this bicycle but would like to get other views.

Where else should I research this bike?

Anyone else had one? What are your views?

Any pointers welcome.

Thank you

I have had a Thorn Nomad for some years and it is an excellent bike.

It rides like a tank, is entirely predictable and has no surprises. Basically a solid and dependable workhorese

However that is what I wanted, so I am very happy

When I bought mine, the Nomad was more or less a Raven Tour with S&S couplings, whereas I now see the Nomad is a model in its own right with the S&S as an option.

Thanks guys.

Cunobelin, is yours the one with the rohloff hub? I'm guessing so. I remember looking at the Nomad and the EXP many years ago when they were both deraliuer geared bikes and before the Nomad was suspension fork compatible. If so how have you been finding it?

A significant investment but from what I have heard worth it.

Predictable, dependable and reliable workhorse is was I'm after.

I have a Thorn Nomad MkII with a Rohloff hub and S and S couplings. I bought it new last November 2010 and I'm really pleased with it, its a solid, dependable workhorse with predictable handling. Its the first bike I've owned with hub gears and I prefer them to my bikes with derailiers.
