New Mittelmeyer Rohloff shifters...?

Post by hufty »

This news is shamelessly lifted from a recent post by Danneaux on the Thorn Cycles forum but it's worth spreading...

Rohloff rapid fire shifters:

Rohloff/Magura dual control shifters for drop handlebars:

(not sure if it's for rim or disc brakes)

Go Mittelmeyer!!

Indeed! I suspect much of their original twist-shift market has been nicked by the Gilles Berthoud shifter for drops.

The drop lever is great, but it's no looker! The amount of times I've grovelled up hills slowly staring at a brake lever wondering how you could make a decent drop shifter for a Rohloff...

FWIW I emailed them about three years ago to buy the original Mittelmeyer twist-shifter, but never had any response. So I bodged one fairly successfully instead.
Big wheels good, small wheels better.
Two saddles best!

Perhaps it's what this teaser on cyclingnews is about

It looks like both the rapidfire and drop bar options use the same shifting unit.
