Personally, I hope you don't get knocked up
I'd heard tell that a lot of fishermen wear those in winter - some carry on through the summer. Now THAT's the real test

I remember a news item from one winter in the 60s, in which the classic traveller in ladies' underwear slid off the road into a snowdrift and kept himself alive by putting on all his samples.
Have we got time for another cuppa?

Have to agree on the popsocks - waaay cheaper than silk inner socks, and if you get black ones nobody can tell the difference!

AND silk inner gloves are a must under fingered cycling gloves

It's when you walk in the cafe and other customers sing "Let's do the time warp again." that you must think about what you are doing.

when I was racing in the '60s it was common to wear ladies tights in the winter. That was in the days before the wide range of cycling apparel that is available now.

And before tights (which became popular to deal with the miniskirt) it was stockings. My friend purloined his sister's suspender belt.....

Many of us are of the view that tights are totally unnecessary to deal with the miniskirt and stockings do a very good job.

Tangentially, I'm reminded of the adage that a sermon should be the same length as a young lady's skirt. Long enough to cover the essentials but no longer.

For some reason, my male club mates feel the need to divulge (as if it were meant to be a secret, or something) to me that they wear women's tights under their cycling tights. They all claim that it's for warmth, but I don't know any women who subscribe to this practice.

I, oops, I mean a friend, I mean I read it somewhere, that you can use these and socks, gents, to protect the "crown jewels" in especially sub-zero weather. Hope nobody was drinking their coffee when they read this.
