It's that time of year and I'm planning on going to Normandy for 7 to 8 days
Having found all the municipal camping sites for all the towns we will be staying at bar 'Saint Lo'
Is there a nice site commercial or municipal in the area

Nearest we got last year was Camping la Roserie de Omaha which was very nice. Run by a very nice couple, but its more than 20 km away. I usually use Google maps to identify sites. Just scroll to the area you are looking at and type in camp sites in the search box. None appear at St Lo.To me St Lo isn't very attractive anyway. Looks like it was flattened and rebuilt.
In maps if you click on the little oblong white flag that appears when you click on the red dot or red pointer indicating a camp site a page of info comes up. If you then click on the greyed out star Google maps puts a gold star on that site. This only happens if you have a Google email account. Then, when you are out on the road you can click on nearby stars and on a smartphone you have all the info plus a phone number to click on to call them. Very convenient.

There is no campsite. Where once one was located a new baseball field and other sports fields have been built.
Surprisingly on a huge map located in the tourist office the location and address of the old campsite is still displayed.
I would fully agree with above posters comments on the town itself.
