Yer not wrong!
Done it again! We seem to agree a lot more than it seems we should, based on our political leanings. I heard people say that the further one way you go the closer you get to the far end of the other side of the spectrum, but we're kind of towards the middle. I think you can say monarchy is bringing our viewpoints closer together by the day. A few more police arrests and I wonder if we'll be on the same streets protesting for the same thing!? 😆
We may even end up in the same cell  :)

Sometimes Kings have been held prisoner, such as the Prisoner in the Vatican, whose predecessors hosted past failed Kings of England, Scotland and Ireland, to the point that there is already a monument to King Charles III in St Peter's Basilica, paid for by the government of King George III: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monument_ ... al_Stuarts

I like the idea of Charles then William being a prisoner of war held in Wales. Then we can send in an Edward with the first Highlanders with the kilts a flying to release him. Obviously send in the highlanders for intimidation purposes. Perhaps under the Barnett rules the ransom gets paid! 😂

It's a principality mate.

Or is it ... https://nation.cymru/opinion/is-wales-a ... y-country/

So why is there an assembly / parliament / sennedd? Not exactly ruled by the Prince of Wales. He doesn't have even the powers of a constitutional monarchy so doesn't quite meet the definition of a principality.

So why no other nation within the union having a Prince? Other than historical tradition based on early incorporation by or into English monarchy or some such hangup.

You might say I'm not that keen on hereditary titles and systems of influence based on birthright. I'm not a big fan of selectivism on such things as state, royalty, democracy, etc. Kind of like a federal system within a Republic in principle. I still think that should have been the option instead of devolution but hey a whole new can of worms with that idea! 😆

Cos they're NOT a principality.

It's not a true principality as in ruled by a Prince. Lichtenstein and Monaco I believe count but Wales is nothing like that. Prince of Wales is a title like Duke of Edinburgh, Sussex or whatever. Nothing to do with how a nation is ruled. Not a principality in the definition sense of being ruled by a Prince.

Explain how Prince of Wales has a constitutional function over Wales that's more than being a regional title with a few perks and rituals?

Well you did ask this:

And I gave a clear answer. Which you've ignored, your call, it might be rubbish anyway:

For more info, I gave you the nation.cymru link. They know more than me, so read that. I'm just trying to be helpful!
