Login CAPTCHA doesn't work under Android

I tried to log in from my Android phone today, but screwed up the password several times in a row (couldn't remember it and tried what I thought it might be. It wasn't.) Up came the CAPTCHA screen.

Once home I looked up my password and entered it correctly, then found that however this wretched CAPTCHA is programmed, it doesn't work under Android: you can't drag an option from one box to another. So now I'm locked out on that particular device. This doesn't just apply to the phone, which can't take a mouse, but also to my Android tablet, which can.

Android has a good chunk of the market now, and it's a shame to block people from logging in when under way. I'd suggest replacing this cranky CAPTCHA with the simpler distorted-text reCAPTCHA or even a just simple sum to solve - anything that requires a simple input.

Sorry about that. It is rather unfortunate that it does not work because Android is Linux-like, and the CTC Forum is the only CTC website on a Linux server.

Is the problem at the Browser end ??

The previous, distorted CAPTCHA code was a bit of a nuisance for me as I had to resolve a constant ( low-volume ) stream of people who could not work it successfully.
Also, it appeared to be of little use against the spammers.

The new, move-the-item-CAPTCHA was a big step forward from my POV. I have never had to intervene/assist.

Hopefully, Anthony will intercept this topic and consider options.

It manifests itself at the browser end, but I tried it on two separate browsers with exactly the same results. My impression is that it's linked to the way that Android handles the touch screen.

If you log in on a PC and go through the Captcha there, you can then log in on the phone or tablet without having to go through it again. If you check "keep me logged in" then the situation doesn't arise again.
