Does anyone recall how groups are/were taken through/across at Dartford and dates. After the buses were discontinued ISTR that groups were escorted as peloton with a barrier vehicle (van/landrover) at front & rear.

AFAIK they take bikes in an LR, if there's a lot of bikes ... then you have to wait.
There's no way that you can pedal through the tunnel, or over the VERY HIGH bridge !!!!!
Nuttycyclist, who frquents acf will have the definitive answer to this question, I believe he's a user of the crossing by bike

I've found their website:

But I've no personal experience. And certainly no knowledge of how they cater for groups. Is this going to be the new Critical Mass venue?
My round-Britain ride has been postponed till next year while my broken wrist mends. With any luck, the Tilbury-Gravesend ferry will be back in operation by then. Who'd have thought the Thames could be such an obstacle?

A very good service it is too. I have been using it while the Gravesend Tilbury ferry was out of action. See photos
