Which chain for a 10-spd 105?
Which chain for a 10-spd 105?
Anyone know the designation of the SRAM chain that matches a Shim 105 10-spd cassette? TIA
Have we got time for another cuppa?
Re: Which chain for a 10-spd 105?
PC-1031 and PC-1051 are meant to be compatible; there may be others too. I've used neither in anger so I can't comment further....
Worth looking at the SRAM website; IIRC all 'SRAM chains for SRAM 10speed' also work on shimano 10 speed.
cheers

Thanks Bruce. I suppose I could struggle out to the workshop and scrape the crud off to actually read the thing, but it's so warm & comfy in here...

(Just registered here so this is as good as any for my first post
I've been using Wipperman Connex chains (mainly the stainless ones) on my bike (Campag Centaur 3x10). They last well and the connector link is brilliant - in a good few thousand miles it has never come apart accidentally but I can always split the chain easily with bare hands whenever I want to.

had good results from duraace chains, had four ultegra go in the bin,had a bunch of cracks on some of the links, now using kmc.

sorry love not tonight im shaving my legs...
Re: Which chain for a 10-spd 105?
Any SRAM 10 will work without problems. Use the KMC split link, it's re-usable, the SRAM 10 speed one isn't. The only difference between SRAM chains of the same speed is cosmetic, or in a couple of cases the weight but that's minimal.
If at first you don't succeed - cheat!!
