That's a lovely job, a lot of time and research went into that I'll bet. I like the contrast between the ' Old Gold ' and the ' Plum ' colour, classy. Wishing you many happy miles riding it.

Thanks, folks.
It has covered a few miles since the rebuild and it rides as well as I think it looks
Dee, if you get hold of a copy of Stuart's book, there's a colour page in it showing the different designs dependent on the year.

Sir that is a lovely restoration, I am not surprised by this having seen some of your other work on the Hub Gear Forum. Well done
However I am wondering about your changing over to the Dedanglers?

Thanks for your kind comments Edwards, but wonder no longer. I'm not a devotee of either type of gearing. Each has their advantages/disadvantages - and attractions - and the 'fleet' is fairly evenly split.
My interest is simply 'bicycles' - so long as they're interesting, old and/or pretty - and capable of doing the job they were intended to do with ease

Beautiful machine.
Will you use it on a regular basis or take it on tour? I'd be frightened of getting a scratch or even a bit of mud on it.

It's definitely a user, Jim - and has been on tour, including some mild off road bits, although I do tend to stick to good weather just to save on cleaning time

I never restore a bike just to look at. They all have to do exactly what they were born to do. If it does get scratched too badly, then it simply gets the treatment again
I'm thinking about using it for the Begian battlefields ride this May - either that or maybe a pre-WW1 Rover.
