Norwich Leeds route anyone

Post by Garry Booth »

I want to ride from Norwich to Leeds on reasonably quiet roads. Has anyone got route suggestions? Cheers, Garry

I presume that the Sustrans NCR1 would be a reasonable basis for a route up to Yorkshire. I can't vouch for it because I only know in a vague sort of way that it comes up the East Coast.

AS for the final approach to Leeds, a lot depends on which bit you are aiming for, especially if it's a Leeds postcode but not actually in Leeds proper. With that info, I could suggest some reasonable routes at this end.

Thanks Third Crank. As I actually live on the NCR1 it would be ideal but it runs up the east coast. I'm looking for something a little more direct. But if its ok I may come back to you for the approaches when I find out where my fellow rider's brother lives in Leeds - which is where we're staying. G

Does the ferry still cross the river at King's Lynn? This will be very helpful then, country roads the whole way to Lincoln. I normally take a day over this! And can suggest a route if Lincoln is chosen.

If you can get to Chesterfield the south-north leg of the Trans Pennine Trail goes from there up to Leeds.
