Fitting Brompton P handlebars on tourer

Post by Belinda_B »

Hi

I currently have a 631 Aravis touring bike which has butterfly handlebars which feel a bit wide. I think they are about 57cm. I am considering changing them to the narrower Brompton P handlebar (about 50cm) but am not sure if the brake levers will fit. At the moment the levers are at the front of the bars with the open ends furthest away. Looking at the Brompton it looks like the curves in the closed end will prevent fitting of the levers there and only leave the option of putting them at the open ends.

Not sure if this makes any sense?

Thanks for any input

The brake levers will fit round the curves. You may have to rotate the lever so that the lever part of your lever is on the outtside of the curve. It'll make sense once you try it.

Thanks for the advice, that sounds promising. I think I'll probably go for it.
