Just replaced my 11-32 HG50/HG73 with

Chain stretch was a little less than 1/16th on removal.
The drivetrain seems to feel like it's grinding a bit under load and there seems to be some low frequency vibration.
BB is smooth and play free (UN54), just done the pedal bearings and they are the same as they were.
The chainset had a thorough clean before fitting.
Is this likely to just be 'newness' or could I have left it too long and trashed the chain ring ?
If the chain ring (FSA Vero Chainset Square Taper 172.5mm 30.42.52 - I use the 42 most of the time) is trashed will this trash the chain and hence the cassette ?
I've lubed the chain with Finsish Line Dry and it made no difference.

Rather challenging to diagnose by internet. 
If you can see or have a friend see if the chain is "sticking" to the chainring at the bottom when it should be coming off. Or just try spinning the pedals in the normal direction with the back wheel off the ground and see if you notice anything there.

1/16" per foot of chain (if this is what you mean) is a fair amount of wear.
If the vibration is similar regardless of rear sprocket used (they won't be evenly worn) then it is likely the chainring which is the problem, and vice versa.... so you may be able to do a diagnosis....
If the chainring is a little worn the good news is that usually, the vibration will go away with use. The bad news is that it'll take a while....
