Disaster - We've just had our support driver drop out for a 9-day LeJog effort (6th-14th Apr) in 2 days! We're trying to sort out a solution, can anyone help?
Is anyone leaving on a LeJog trip this weekend who might want to merge and share the support car?
OR
Does anyone know of anyone who might be able to help with some driving? - we're happy to pay for accommodation and a little spending money if anyone can help!
We're putting together plans to do it unsupported, but we've had a support vehicle donated by a helpful car showroom and they've spent money on servicing and branding it so I don't particularly want their work to go to waste either!

It might be useful to post a schedule of the ride (ie where you intend to be each day) in case it could the driving could be done in relays. Also, where is the car located?

Car's based in Portsmouth, we're driving then completing a short leg on the Friday.
Friday - Portsmouth-> Lands End & Short leg to Padstow
Saturday 7th -> Padstow-> Bridgwater
Sunday 8th -> Bridgwater -> Hereford
Monday - 9th -> Hereford -> Wigan
Tuesday - 10th -> Wigan -> Carlisle
Weds - 11th -> Carlisle -> Paisley
Thurs - 12th -> Paisley -> Fort William
Fri - 13th -> Fort William -> Tain
Sat - 14th -> Tain -> JOG (then drive to Edinburgh)
Sun 15th - Drive from Edinburgh -> Portsmouth, via London
Otherwise, we're asking everywhere!
We're sorted for Fri 6th, Sat 7th, but we our current helper has to leave from Bristol on Sunday, so we're looking for help from there on!

monday if your rideing up the A49 south of tarpoley at beeston, there will be a bank holiday market on,trafic does get mad...so be carefull

If using a number of drivers then think about insurance and qualification.

Have you considered getting one of your fellow riders to give up riding and drive for you?

Just to state the obvious, one potential solution is that you don't use a support driver at all. Putting it another way, what role will the driver have? For instance, if you just want to avoid carrying luggage then maybe you could send someone off in a taxi to the following day's B&B, then back to the start point to do the day's cycling?
