Post by Ian Raleigh »

Just finished this model car yesterday, its not a small model as the scale is 1/16th and the kit maker is Minicraft.

Enjoy .....

Wow, this looks really good.
The style of car makes me hope that someone has built a Bugs Malone style 1920s car with pedals. That would be quite something!

"They don't make 'em like they used to!"
Very nice.
I'm intrigued by the wheels. Seems radial spokes on front side with one ? cross on the rear.
A man can't have everything.

Oh-ar ! Must have been a 'modern' idea back in the 1930's

Seems the wheels are actually like that on the real one ! Makes you wonder how they trued them up ?

Very nice and very clean bit of modelling. Although if I'd have done it I'd have had to do it T-bucket style with a big block V8 and a Ford 9inch rear end

Here's my Easter hols project.....done while I was suffering from a heavy dose of man-flu and so couldn't go riding....
It's a scratch built body (mostly balsa and plasticard) on a Kato chassis. 7mm:1ft scale to run on 15" gauge track.
Not quite as clean and well looked after as your Model T!

They're heavily dished - radial on the outside and one cross on the inside.

So there is power transmission from the inside, and lower tension on the more dished radial spokes outside to resiste leaning into corners.

Them engineers knew something about wheels...
